Mole Removal

Mole Removal

What is a mole?

A mole is a small, usually brown or black, spot on the skin. Moles are common and can appear anywhere on the body. While most are harmless, you may want to have a mole removed for cosmetic reasons or because it’s bothersome.

Some moles can become cancerous or precancerous, so it’s important to monitor them for any changes.

Initial consultation

During your initial consultation, your doctor will examine your skin to confirm the diagnosis and rule out any concerning features.
They may use a Dermatoscope, a special magnifying glass that allows them to see details that are not visible to the naked eye.
Once the diagnosis is confirmed, your doctor will discuss your treatment options. The exact procedure will depend on the mole’s location and size.

Benefits of Removal

  • Improved appearance: Moles can be unsightly or interfere with clothing or jewellery.
  • Peace of mind: If you’re concerned about a mole’s potential for developing into skin cancer, removal can provide peace of mind.
  • Elimination of discomfort: Some moles can be itchy, painful, or irritating. Removing them can alleviate these symptoms.
